so, rachel, don't skip a day or two!
In the mornings, I read the new testament and the book of Psalms... and just today around 11am, a friend of mine texted me Psalm 119 and just a few days ago, I read that chapter. It really got me thinking about God's law and His precepts. firstly, we're not judged according to how well we follow His commands because Jesus has paid the price on the cross with His blood. We know as believers it's not based on our actions that we're going to heaven. We all come short! and just reading that chapter in Psalm made me question, why do we strive to follow God's rules and commands if we're just going to fall short and make mistakes. that's religion!
but over and over again, it says that because we love the Lord, we follow His commands. It keeps up in check and we must always check ourselves even when we have reached that point of accomplishment. When we reach a goal, there's still going to be room for improvement. We must strive to be Christ-like. Yes, we're human and we're never going to be God. But because of what He's done for me and what He has blessed me with, I want to live my life for Him and strive to be better. I want to do the right thing not because of what I'll get in return but because GOD. Because He loves me and lives in me, I want to live it out.
The biggest challenge for me is to share His love to others. I know one day I'll be able to do that... once I train my heart, mind, and spirit, I'll one day share my testimony and faith.
