7/5/10

Today was a good day

I miss my mom. I felt out of place, as if my world was out of balance when I woke up to find that my mom had left the hotel. Before my dad and stepmom drove from San Jose to meet up with me and my brother, we had the whole morning to ourselves. Unfortunately, I still woke up pretty early and I think it was because I would normally wake up early for church. I was out of routine yesterday and it was so new to me in a weird way. But nonetheless, I liked it. I like experiencing something new, something different, especially when it's away from home.

Although I've said I miss my mom, I like being away from her at the moment. She called me at least 5 times yesterday... I wouldn't blame her. She practically all by herself! my dad is out of the country and my brother and I are in San Jose to be with my dad and his family.

so, San Francisco! I think I want to live there someday. I hope my future husband won't mind. walking around the city makes me want to visit New York. It's seriously on my priority list of places to visit. One of the things I noticed as I was walking in san fran was the parking. how on earth can they park so closely together?? how the heck can a car that's so closely in between 2 cars manage to get out of parallel parking? I sure won't be able to survive the drive in the city. I think I would probably last 10 minutes with all the one way streets and insane steep hills and traffic. I'll just take the bus thank you.

a dream was fulfilled the other day and that was to ride a double decker bus. it was pretty close to the ones in england. haha it's a pretty big deal, not gonna lie. I was ecstatic! I saw so many places of San Fran that I would like to revisit someday. last year, I only saw the golden gate bridge. and after the tour, it blew me away. there's so much to explore! there's a lot to see and experience other than the golden gate bridge and chinatown (and yes, even japantown). don't get me wrong, walking (part of) the golden gate bridge was exciting and fun... but that's not all of san francisco. there's the haight district, the painted ladies (where they filmed the beginning credits of Full House), union square, city hall, some restaurants... aahhh!

and Wicked is showing at the orpheum theater there!

Praise God for vacations such as these. What an excursion. I would like to go back some day please. God willing. and New York would be nice.
